Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Consultant to oversee regional transportation operations within a nationwide remote framework. You will serve as the primary operational point of contact for multiple facilities, collaborating with planners, DC leadership, and 3PLs to maintain delivery performance and adherence to SOPs.

You will leverage TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement data-driven improvements across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with focus on dedicated fleet operations, dispatch or carrier operations.
• Experience managing operational processes, day-to-day transportation execution, and 3PL/carrier performance for regional or multi-facility networks.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret operational data, review scorecards, and derive actionable insights from transportation trends.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and TMS preferred.
• Ability to coordinate during time-sensitive operational disruptions (weather, holidays, outages).
• Travel expectations: 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational Single Point of Contact for transportation operations within an assigned portfolio of facilities.
• Collaborate with carriers and 3PL partners to manage service delivery expectations and resolve exceptions.
• Align with Transportation Planners to reinforce SOPs and routing expectations.
• Drive governance and SOP maintenance, including ASO processes.
• Plan for and respond to network disruptions and peak periods.
• Use TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs and provide actionable feedback to leadership.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and waste reduction across sites.
• Coordinate with DC operations, customer service, planning, and external providers.
