Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Consultant to oversee day-to-day operations across a portfolio of facilities in Cardinal Health's distribution network. You will serve as the primary operational Single Point of Contact for your territory, partnering with Transportation Planners, DC leadership, and 3PL carriers to maintain delivery performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Preferred Certifications: PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
• 4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with focus on dedicated fleet operations, dispatch management, or carrier operations preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing operational processes, day-to-day transportation execution, and 3PL/carrier performance for regional or multi-facility networks.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.
• Travel 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Operational Point of Contact for 1 to 5 facilities; troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day transportation challenges.
• Collaborate with carrier ops management and 3PL partners to manage service delivery and verify execution.
• Partner with Transportation Planners to reinforce SOPs and route planning.
• Drive SOP maintenance and govern ASO processes across sites.
• Coordinate contingency plans for weather, peak season, and outages.
• Use TMS and BI tools to monitor KPIs and provide data-backed feedback to leadership.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement with engineering and leadership.
• Communicate with DC operations, customer service, planning, and external providers.
