Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an engineer to apply continuous improvement across operations in Montgomery, AL. The role focuses on data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to boost safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in transportation, Power BI, Excel, and Lean/CI tools, with experience in data analytics and cross-functional collaboration. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of related work experience in Transportation or Supply Chain.
• Transportation Experience necessary (Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL).
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
• Experience with Lean methodologies and CI tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify and drive change within operations using data-driven CI, engineering, and automation.
• Develop and manage continuous improvement plans to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
• Manage CI and engineering projects, support go-live and steady-state certifications, and identify automation opportunities.
• Coach employees in CI and Lean principles and facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events.
• Provide regular data reports and recommendations to measure progress against objectives.
