Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to raise safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across the operation. You will work with employees at all levels and report to the Lead Engineer, CI Manager, or Sr. CI Manager.

The role requires transportation knowledge, expertise in Power BI, Excel, and data analysis, plus leading Lean initiatives, Kaizen events, and cross-functional CI projects to deliver measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of related work experience in the Transportation or Supply Chain.
• Transportation experience in Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, LTL.
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio. Expert.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and database programming (SQL, DAX, etc.) Intermediate, Preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean methods: PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization Beginner, Required.
• Understanding core engineering and data analysis: slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics, Intermediate, Required.
• Knowledge of dedicated services and managed transportation networks; tools: JDA, Appian, OLTP mapping/Tableau/Power BI; Intermediate, Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply CI methods to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Lead CI projects and support go-live and certifications.
• Develop and demonstrate competency in lean tools and coach teams in CI/Lean.
• Coach on process owners how to use lean methods to achieve operational excellence.
• Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.
