Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join a multi-person team delivering EHV overhead and underground transmission designs for major utilities. You will apply standards such as NESC, ASCE, and ACI while performing analyses, drafting plans, and preparing procurement and construction documents.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering, experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE, 2+ years (or 1+ with Master), and the ability to work with clients and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems (Bachelor’s) or 1+ year with a Master’s degree.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Ability to work in a team environment and also independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
• Travel to client sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design electric transmission line projects for EHV overhead and underground systems.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications, and material procurement/construction documents.
• Interface with clients and project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
• Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other applicable standards in engineering and design.
