Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer (Mid, Senior, & Lead) to design HV/EHV overhead and underground systems and lead projects that strengthen the nation’s power grid. Use PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and advanced modeling (PLS-TOWER, LPILE, FAD) while mentoring juniors and coordinating with clients from concept to construction-ready packages.
Hybrid/remote options in the North Region; PE preferred for senior/lead; bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and relevant experience in electric utility transmission design.
- Expert-level or working knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
- Familiarity with NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes.
- Strong communication to translate concepts into project scopes and client presentations.
Responsibilities
- Design overhead and underground transmission systems to meet standards.
- Lead projects from routing and engineering analysis to procurement and construction-ready packages.
- Apply advanced modeling to solve site-specific challenges and voltage conversions.
- Mentor junior engineers and manage client interfaces for mid to lead roles.
