Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering electric transmission projects for major utilities. This role focuses on EHV overhead and underground systems, applying standards such as NESC, ASCE and ACI, and performing analyses, drafting plans, specs, and procurement/construction documents.

Collaboration with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems (Bachelor) or 1+ years with Master’s.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness for client office work and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Apply standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI) in the design of overhead and underground transmission systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare bidding documents, plans, and specifications.
• Prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting and construction management personnel.
