Job summary

Leidos Inc is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer at mid, senior, and lead levels to design overhead and underground transmission systems, supporting HV to EHV projects. Hybrid or remote options are available in the South Region.

You will lead routing, engineering analysis, procurement, and construction-ready packages, using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and advanced modeling while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with experience in electric utility transmission system design.
• Expert-level or working knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Working knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes.
• Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear project scopes and client presentations.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground transmission systems ensuring code compliance.
• Lead end-to-end project work from routing and engineering analysis to procurement and construction-ready packages.
• Apply advanced modeling to address site-specific challenges and optimize designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams.
