Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects. The role is fully remote with location details discussed in interview.

You will coordinate with engineering, estimating, and scheduling teams, review client documents, support LNTP processes, and ensure designs meet NESC and IEEE standards while preparing for handoff to Preconstruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering.
• 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
• Proficient in transmission line design software (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS).
• Familiar with NESC, IEEE, and utility standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary 10% transmission line design and routing.
• Review client documents and identify requirements and risks.
• Coordinate inputs from engineers, survey, and environment teams.
• Support handoff to Preconstruction Engineering.
• Ensure design aligns with codes and standards.
