Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Design Engineer II, Transmission to own the preliminary transmission line design and engineering lifecycle for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This role serves as the primary technical owner from kickoff through design-to-preconstruction handoff and is fully remote.
Specific location details will be discussed during the interview. The position requires 3+ years in transmission line design and proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, and GIS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or related engineering.
- 3+ years in transmission line design or related power engineering.
- Proficiency with design software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS.
Responsibilities
- Own preliminary transmission line design and technical ownership for projects.
- Lead 10% design development including routing and structure sizing.
- Coordinate with estimators, BD, and clients to align scope and schedule.
- Review client documents and identify risks and exclusions.
- Support handoff to Preconstruction Engineering with clear RFIs and risks.
