Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a production underwriter for its Property and Casualty team. This remote role includes travel to key agency relationships within the assigned territory, with territory TBD, likely Southern California.

Ideally based in or near the territory. The candidate should have commercial middle market expertise and construction-insurance experience, with established agency relationships considered a strong plus.

Qualifications

Strong preference for commercial middle market expertise.
Construction-specific insurance industry experience is ideal.
Existing relationships with agency partner firms is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Monitors market conditions, competitive landscape, and confirms information gathered within market space.
Researches risk, environment and other factors necessary to win the account.
Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports; reviews agency books of business and profitability trends.
Analyzes regional underwriting performance and proposes plans to resolve issues at territory level.
Quotes, prices and underwrites new and renewal policies, including complex or service-sensitive accounts.
Manages workflow and large, complex underwriting work to meet service level agreements.
Drives agency business planning to deliver detailed performance plans with actions and checkpoints.
Markets Nationwide products and services to help drive agency and company results.
