Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Designer to perform detailed outside plant (OSP) and fiber designs for telecommunication networks. The role involves creating constructible GPON designs, collaborating with engineering, design, and construction teams, and supporting field staff with safety and quality control.

This home-based position (90% remote) may require occasional travel as we prepare to expand operations and open a Florence, Kentucky hub.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe; GIS is a plus.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments
• Work with power company and design power route and one-line schematics
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment
