Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking a Designer to perform detailed design of outdoor plant (OSP) elements and fiber designs for telecommunication networks. The role combines office and field work, supporting construction staff with safety and quality control, under the Design Manager.

Responsibilities include designing FTTH and copper OSP networks, coordinating with power providers, and generating BOMs and quotes for projects while ensuring constructibility and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe. GIS is a plus.
• Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for FTTH deployments and commercial developments.
• Work with power company and design power routes and one-line schematics.
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes.
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records.
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes.
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Adapt within a dynamic work environment.
