Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services seeks a Designer for the detailed design of outside plant (OSP) elements and fiber designs for telecom networks. You’ll collaborate with the engineering team to create constructible GPON designs and support construction staff with safety and quality control. The role blends office work with field activities to ensure build-ready designs. The team works across North America with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS).
• 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam and Adobe; GIS is a plus; strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments
• Work with power company and design power route and one-line schematics
• Manage growth and sustainment of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes
• Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records
• Create system designs, BOMs, and provide construction quotes
• Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt within a dynamic work environment
