Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA HTMS Contract. The role manages artifacts for senior leadership, ensures QA of documents for VAMC personnel during EHR transitions, and works remotely across the US with core hours 8am-5pm ET.

Responsibilities include writing and editing documents, translating complex issues into clear narratives, applying editorial standards, and collaborating with SMEs to deliver executive-ready materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience; or 3-5 years with UX software certifications, or 5-7 years substituted for education.
• Experience on Enterprise VA projects or with federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Acrobat.
• Experience operating in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Write, rewrite, and edit technical documentation and team communications.
• Translate complex issues into concise narratives for senior leadership.
• Apply editorial standards across documents and artifacts.
• Collaborate with SMEs to develop comprehensive deliverables.
• Draft minutes and maintain the communications plan with the PM.
