Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract. This role is fully remote within the United States with core hours 8 am–5 pm ET.

The writer will manage artifacts for senior leadership, ensure QA of documents during the Electronic Health Record transition, and translate complex information into concise, executive-ready narratives while applying editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience (or commensurate experience).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience operating in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications/artifacts with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complicated issues from multiple sources into a clear narrative for the audience.
• Apply editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executives and VA leadership.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop deliverables.
• Reviews technical documentation for quality and formatting.
• Drafts accurate meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
