Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract, managing governance artifacts and QA for documents used by VAMC personnel during EHR transitions.

The position is fully remote within the United States with standard core hours 8 am–5 pm ET, and requires strong MS Office, SharePoint, Acrobat skills and experience in federal projects and Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience (or commensurate).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in UX software, or 5-7 years substituted for education
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complicated issues into a clear narrative for senior leadership.
• Applies editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership.
• Creates documentation based on new processes and procedures.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop deliverables.
• Reviews technical documentation for quality of content and formatting.
• Supports the communications plan with the project manager and improves team communications.
• Drafts accurate, succinct meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
• Supports continuous improvement of artifacts during EHR transitions.
