Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the VA Health Technology Management Services contract. You will manage artifacts for senior leadership, perform QA on documents during EHR transitions, and produce clear narrative content for VA personnel.

This role is fully remote within the United States with core hours 8am-5pm ET. Responsibilities include editing technical docs, ensuring editorial consistency, and collaborating with SMEs to deliver executive-ready materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software, or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed
• Translates complicated issues from multiple information sources into clear narratives for senior leadership
• Applies editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop comprehensive deliverables
• Drafts accurate, succinct meeting minutes with short turnarounds
• Supports continuous improvement by refining artifacts shared with VA personnel during site EHR transitions
• Works with project manager to maintain communications plan and address gaps
