Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Technology Management Services (HTMS) contract. The writer will manage artifacts for senior leadership during the Electronic Health Record transition, ensuring QA and quality of documentation while working remotely within the United States with core hours 8 am–5 pm ET.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of technical writing experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in UX software or 5-7 years substituted for education.
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience operating in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications/artifacts with graphic design as needed.
• Leverages advanced writing skills to translate complicated issues into a clear point of view for a compelling narrative.
• Apply editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership.
• Creates documentation based on newly identified processes/procedures during each fiscal year.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop comprehensive deliverables.
• Drafts accurate, succinct meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
• Supports continuous improvement by refining artifacts during each site EHR transition.
