Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs HTMS Contract. The writer will manage multiple artifacts for senior leadership, ensure QA of documents for VAMC personnel during EHR transition, and work fully remote across the U.S.

with core hours 8 am–5 pm ET. The role emphasizes translating complex information into clear narratives, adherence to editorial standards, collaboration with SMEs, and supporting continuous improvement of communications throughout the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies.
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documentation and team communications/artifacts with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complicated issues into clear, concise narratives for intended audiences.
• Applies editorial styles and standards consistently across documents.
• Develops ad hoc artifacts for executive VA leadership.
• Creates documentation based on new processes/procedures through each fiscal year.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop comprehensive deliverables.
• Reviews technical documentation for content quality and formatting.
• Maintains and updates the team communication plan with the project manager.
