Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Writer to support VA Health Technology Management Services contracts. This fully remote role within the United States focuses on managing artifacts for senior leadership during EHR transitions, with standard hours 8am-5pm ET.

You will rewrite and edit technical documents, collaborate with SMEs, ensure consistency with editorial standards, and develop ad hoc artifacts for VA leadership while supporting continuous process improvements throughout fiscal years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research or related fields with 5+ years of experience (or commensurate experience).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience with certifications in relevant UX software or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Experience within Enterprise VA projects or other federal agencies
• Advanced proficiency in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience operating in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and edits technical documentation and team communications with graphic design as needed.
• Translates complex issues into a clear narrative for senior leadership.
• Applies editorial styles and standards consistently across documentation.
• Develops artifacts for diverse audiences including executive VA leadership.
• Creates documentation based on new processes/procedures throughout each fiscal year.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop deliverables.
• Maintains and reviews content quality and formatting.
• Supports the communications plan and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Drafts accurate meeting minutes with short turnaround times.
• Supports continuous improvement of artifacts shared with VAMC personnel during EHR transitions.
