Job summary

JD Power is seeking a Technical Solutions Consultant to partner with automotive clients, turning complex business challenges into actionable technical solutions and leading the solution design from discovery to kickoff.

You will collaborate with Solution Analysts, Architects, and Developers, own high-level estimates, document requirements, and present approaches to clients and internal stakeholders, with a focus on mentorship and expanding engagement across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in solutions consulting, pre-sales engineering, or technical solution design.
• Proven experience working directly with clients, in person and remotely, to shape technical solutions.
• A track record of self-managing priorities and translating ambiguous or incomplete requirements into practical, well-documented solutions — collaborating closely with Solution Analysts, Architects, and Developers along the way.
• Strong understanding of system architecture concepts (integration, modernization, scalability), with the confidence to weigh in on architecture decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client stakeholders to understand their business challenges and translate them into clear, actionable technical solutions.
• Own high-level estimates and review detailed estimates from your development, QA, and architecture partners.
• Produce solution documentation (e.g., business and functional requirements, wireframes) and creating client-facing Statements of Work and proposals.
• Present your solution approach to clients and internal stakeholders and providing technical mentorship to junior teammates.
• Identify opportunities to expand your work with the client based on unmet business needs you uncover.
