Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own Linux and AWS infrastructure, security administration, and production reliability. You will partner with the CTO and software engineers to maintain compliant controls, automate provisioning, and support CI/CD workflows in a remote, distributed team.

The role emphasizes SOC 2 Type II readiness, patching, monitoring, and incident response across EC2, ECS, WAF, and related services, with a focus on secure, scalable operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Strong AWS administration skills across EC2, IAM, networking, load balancing, storage, WAF, and monitoring.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits with evidence collection and remediation tracking.
• Proficient in CI/CD configurations, deployment environments, and secure pipeline access.
• Familiar with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, shell scripting, Docker and Docker Compose.

Responsibilities

• Manage AWS resources (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS) and secure configurations.
• Administer Debian and Amazon Linux hosts; handle services, storage, networking, and runtime issues.
• Maintain infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and reliability across environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot deployments, and ensure environment consistency.
• Automate provisioning and patching with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting; document processes.
• Collaborate with CTO and engineering to prioritize work by risk and customer impact.
