Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to join a remote, CTO-backed team. The role focuses on Linux/system administration, production reliability, and security operations across AWS services. You will work with ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, and EFS, coordinating SOC 2 Type II controls with the CTO and audit owners.

You will support CI/CD, automation, and incident response, while maintaining hardened systems and clear documentation in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Strong AWS administration skills (EC2, IAM, networking, storage).
• Experience with SOC 2 Type II audits and evidence collection.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD tooling.
• Excellent incident response and monitoring capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations.
• Coordinate SOC 2 Type II control execution and audit preparation.
• Maintain patched, hardened systems and backup procedures.
• Manage AWS resources like EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, and IAM.
• Provide CI/CD support and automation using Terraform and Ansible.
• Troubleshoot Linux, AWS, containers, and networking issues.
• Monitor incidents, coordinate response, and communicate impact.
