Zurich NA is actively seeking an experienced Commercial Surety Underwriter to analyze and underwrite new and renewal business within the Surety Team. The role uses the Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework and delegates authority to deliver high-value service to brokers and clients.

The role may be filled at the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, with the hiring manager assigning the level based on experience and qualifications.

Formación

• Underwriter roles require 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing finance/accounting background
• Alternatively 6+ years in underwriting support or claims
• Zurich Apprentice paths with associate degree and experience also qualify
• Knowledge of line of business, regulatory guidelines, and quote timing is needed
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsabilidades

• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite while balancing opportunity and risk.
• Make agent/broker/customer visits with a clear purpose and plan.
• Negotiate terms and conditions and close deals.
• Cross-sell other lines to increase product density with accounts.
• Engage in target account processes 90–120 days before effective date.
• Update broker/customer visit details in systems within required timeframes.
• Develop strong broker and client networks across underwritten industries.
