Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector. The role focuses on design reviews of steel and concrete structures, foundations, and related components for substation projects, leading projects and developing junior staff.

The candidate will travel to client sites, perform seismic design work, and ensure compliance with codes and standards while supporting bid/construction packages.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR; SE licensure preferred.
• Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Lead projects and develop junior staff members.
• Design and review structures and foundations under seismic loading.
• Conduct site visits to client substations and support bid/construction packages.
