Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility industry experience to lead design reviews and project teams for substation structures, foundations, and related components. The role emphasizes senior technical leadership, coordination with clients, and development of junior staff across bid and construction packages.

Preferred candidates hold PE or SE licensure, with proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, and MATHCAD.

Qualifications

BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years
PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain in 3–12 months
SE licensure is preferred
Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

Lead projects and perform design reviews for substation structures and foundations.
Develop junior staff through mentoring and reviews.
Support bid/construction package development with civil/structural design input.
Coordinate with clients and staff; travel to client sites as needed.
