Job summary

Leidos Engineering seeks a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews, mentor junior staff, and drive bid/construction package development for substation projects.

Ideal candidate has a strong background in steel and concrete structures, foundations, geotechnical aspects, and seismic loading, with travel to client sites and good client communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE license preferred in CA/WA/OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
• SE licensure preferred.
• Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MATHCAD required.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Develop junior staff and manage project scope, schedule and budget.
• Travel to client sites and attend industry-related events as needed.
