Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Substation Engineering Team Lead to guide a growing group of physical substation engineers and designers. You will direct project delivery across the US, provide technical leadership, and help shape business development while working in a fully remote environment with substantial growth opportunities.

The role emphasizes mentoring, project planning, budget and schedule control, and collaboration with utility clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE licensure preferred but not required.
• Experience leading teams of 5+ engineers.
• Experience with physical substation design for utilities.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of substation engineers and designers.
• Oversee planning and delivery of physical substation projects across the US.
• Provide technical guidance on complex substation designs.
• Manage utilization, staffing, forecasting, and profitability metrics.
• Coordinate resources for 5+ engineers across multiple utilities.
• Support business development and client presentations.
• Travel to client meetings across the US as needed.
• Drive process improvements and standards for substation design.
