Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Substation Designer to lead physical substation design efforts for critical power delivery projects. You will develop layouts, construction drawings, and technical packages to meet client requirements and applicable standards.

You will work with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, present design recommendations, and incorporate feedback. This remote role in Chicago emphasizes collaboration, quality reviews, and timely delivery of high-quality design solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of physical substation design experience.
• Experience designing power delivery and electrical utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical substation design efforts from project kickoff through final delivery.
• Create detailed physical substation layouts and construction drawings.
• Prepare and review design packages, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Utilize AutoCAD and engineering software to produce accurate deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects and maintain quality and schedule commitments.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
