Actalent is seeking a Group Manager, Substation Engineering to lead a national team of seven engineers in a remote-first setup. You will guide both Physical and P&C design, oversee major substation projects, and drive technical excellence while mentoring talent.

The role emphasizes leadership, QA/QC, stakeholder management, and growth of a nationally recognized practice. Based in Chicago, IL, with remote work options and strong client collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering and PE license.
• 10+ years in physical substation design and/or P&C design.
• 4+ years in engineering leadership or management.
• HV substation engineering experience with QA/QC oversight.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a nationwide team of substation engineers.
• Provide technical oversight for transmission and distribution projects.
• Review design packages for quality, standards, and client needs.
• Manage staffing, budgets, and project schedules across multiple projects.
• Support business development and client relationships at senior level.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
