Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. is seeking an experienced Building Structural Engineer to serve as Technical Director for the Structural Group. The role focuses on growing technical capabilities, establishing standards, and providing direction on large and complex projects.

The position involves mentoring staff, leading QA/QC, and coordinating with multiple offices. A PE/SE licensure and 15+ years of experience are required, with travel as needed and potential for remote work within the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or related field.
• PE or SE licensure; PE acceptable if SE exam passed.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
• Licensure to work in states where we operate; ability to obtain additional licensure.
• Experience with high-rise structures, post-tensioned concrete, finite element modeling, and elevated floor vibration analysis.
• Proficiency with RAM Concept, SAP2000, and ETABS.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for building and vertical structural projects and set direction for complex projects.
• Develop and train engineering staff to maximize technical proficiency.
• Maintain and develop Structural Group standards, calculation/modeling methods and practices.
• Perform QC reviews of calculations, drawings, specs, and deliverables for quality, constructability and standards compliance.
• Manage the overall QA/QC process for the Structural Group.
• Develop internal training material.
• Participate in employee performance reviews.
• Promote Structurepoint services as a subject matter expert in structural engineering.
• Assist in development of qualifications packages and proposals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline

Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure (SE exam acceptable with PE)
