Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead the Structural Group on complex building projects. This role focuses on growing technical capabilities, developing group standards, and providing direction for large-scale structures. Occasional travel to ASI offices is required.

The candidate will mentor staff, oversee QA/QC, and contribute to proposals while maintaining a reputation as a structural engineering expert across a diverse portfolio.

Qualifications

• Must hold PE or SE licensure (SE considered).
• At least 15 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Licensure in states where we work is required or obtainable.
• Proven experience with high-rise design, post-tensioned concrete, and advanced FE modeling.
• Experience with RAM Concept, SAP2000 and ETABS.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for building and vertical structural projects and set direction for complex projects.
• Develop and train engineering staff to maximize technical proficiency.
• Maintain and develop Structural Group standards, calculation/modeling methods and practices.
• Perform Quality Control reviews of structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and deliverables.
• Manage QA/QC process for the Structural Group.
• Develop internal training material.
• Participate in employee performance reviews.
• Promote Structurepoint services as a subject matter expert in structural engineering.
• Assist in development of qualifications packages and proposals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
