Job summary

ABB Inc. in the United States is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for data centers and critical manufacturing facilities, partnering with SAMs to drive ITO functions and maximize project profitability.

This remote role supports ABB Electrification's Smart Buildings division, with responsibilities spanning CTQ factors, deal strategy, and risk management across large-scale projects, travel up to 2-3 times per year.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical distribution; Minimum 5 years of Sales and project quotations experience.
Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio and design characteristics.
Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with the Strategic Account Sales Managers (SAMs) and Strategic Customers to understand CTQ factors essential for growth.
Organizing and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
Developing innovative solutions tailored to market segment needs by leveraging ABB Electrification's portfolio. Proactively suggest alternatives to reduce costs and increase profitability.
Evaluating and understanding project risk triggers and coordinating risk reviews with leadership.
