Job summary

ABB Electrification is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for focused industry segments, including data centers and critical manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate with SAMs to drive ITO functions, prioritizing high-probability, high-profitability projects across ABB Electrification U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience working in the electrical distribution or related industry; Minimum 5 years of Sales and project quotations experience.
Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio, general industry design characteristics, and configuration tools (ABB empower).
Experience working with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects with multiple work packages.
Experience working with global and local cross functional teams and interacting with senior management.
Ability to leverage a wide variety of electronic tools to stay organized and communicate effectively remotely (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce.com, Teams, etc.)
Ability to travel up to 2-3 times a year.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with the Strategic Account Sales Managers (SAMs) and Strategic Customers to understand the CTQ factors essential for growth.
Organizing and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
Contributing to the development of innovative solutions tailored to market segment needs by leveraging ABB Electrification's portfolio.
Evaluating and understanding project risk triggers and ensuring alignment with ABB standards; coordinate with risk manager when needed.
