Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer for the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the US. This remote role supports data centers and critical manufacturing facilities, collaborating with SAMs to drive ITO.

You will craft technical and commercial proposals, manage pricing discussions, and emphasize high-probability, profitable projects. The role requires deep ABB product knowledge, EPC/data center project experience, and the ability to travel 2–3 times yearly.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
10+ years in electrical distribution or related industry; 5+ years in sales and project quotations.
Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio and configuration tools (ABB empower).
Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large-scale projects.
Experience working with global and local cross-functional teams and senior management.
Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year.
Work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the SAMs and Strategic Customers to understand the CTQ factors essential for growth.
Organize and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of innovative solutions leveraging ABB Electrification's portfolio.
Evaluate project risk triggers and ensure risk profile aligns with ABB standards; initiate risk reviews with leadership.
Serve as primary contact for the risk manager when necessary.
