Job summary

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. App Infrastructure is the team behind affirm's shared mobile app infrastructure — the platform every other mobile feature team builds on.

We own the app’s shared components: design system, networking, observability, experimentation, CI/CD, app releases, developer tooling, availability, and more.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and architecting mobile apps, 4+ with React Native.
• Proficient in Javascript/Typescript; hands-on RN and Expo.
• Experience with complex state management and native module work.
• Able to update RN SDKs, debug JS-native boundaries, and stay current with OS releases.
• Strong communication and leadership across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term technical strategy for the team and align with business goals.
• Collaborate across product, design, and analytics to ensure sustainability and risk management.
• Drive architectural decisions and operational processes to empower the team.
• Own team operations, monitoring, on-call readiness, and playbooks.
• Define and enforce code review and design standards across teams.
• Mentor and develop talent through feedback and example.
