Job summary

Affirm is on a mission to reinvent credit with honest, friendly terms. The App Infrastructure team owns shared mobile app infrastructure and tools used across teams.

We’re small, technical, and highly collaborative, focused on reliability and scalable systems. This role leads mobile-focused initiatives, sets strategy for the year, and mentors a team delivering large features and evolving the architecture for React Native apps.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of developing and architecting mobile applications, 4+ using React Native.
• Proficient with Javascript/Typescript.
• Hands-on React Native, Expo experience; authored or migrated native modules/components.
• Experience with complex state management and Redux Toolkit is a bonus.
• Updates to RN SDKs and debugging across JS-native boundary.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team over a year and align projects to business impact.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics on sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
• Define and advocate technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations and availability with monitoring, playbooks, testing and on-call readiness.
• Promote code quality and design standards through writing and talks.
• Mentor and develop team members through feedback and leadership.
