Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Fraud Decisioning team’s initiatives. You’ll build tools and systems to enhance fraud detection, partner with Product, ML, Analytics and Biz teams, and guide cross-functional delivery with a focus on scalability and reliability.

You’ll mentor engineers, design simple, robust solutions, and sponsor high-quality code reviews while shaping long-term technical strategy that protects customers and merchants alike.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience architecting, building, launching, coding and maintaining complex systems.
• Ability to work with Product, ML, Analytics and Business teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute large cross-functional initiatives from definition to maintenance.
• Write clean, maintainable code and design simple, scalable systems.
• Review others’ work to uphold quality standards across teams.
• Mentor engineers and help them grow, giving ownership of components.
