Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day and month-end accounting operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will prepare monthly journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with audits to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.

You will help with monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and adherence to internal controls. This remote role is open to qualified US applicants, with GAAP knowledge and ERP experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years general accounting experience; month-end close and reconciliation experience preferred; new grads with relevant internship considered.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
• Experience with an ERP or general ledger system; ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries as directed by the Accounting Manager, including accruals, prepaid amortization, reclassifications, and recurring and standard entries, ensuring each entry is properly supported and documented.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and other general ledger accounts; assist with audit requests by compiling schedules and reconciliations for auditors.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready workpapers and reconciliation files per policy.
• Analyze general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness, and assist in investigating and correcting posting errors.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting schedules and variance analysis.
• Perform assigned accounting tasks in accordance with procedures and internal controls, and bring suggested improvements to the Accounting Manager.
• Support ad hoc projects, analyses, and other duties as assigned.
