Job summary

Lumicera is seeking an Intake Specialist I to enroll new Specialty Pharmacy patients and ensure that all pertinent patient data—demographics, allergies, history, and payer information—are accurately captured in the dispensing system.

Under supervision from the Assoc. Manager, Patient Support Services, you will place calls to patients and providers, transfer information for triage of prior authorizations, and support pharmacy operations while upholding compliance and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some college preferred.
• National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per employee’s residing state’s requirements.
• Minimum two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Ability to work scheduled hours, shifts may vary based on department needs. Hours of operation are 8am to 7pm Monday thru Thursday and 8am to 6pm on Friday.
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
• The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.

Responsibilities

• Place phone calls to new and existing Specialty Pharmacy patients
• Enroll patients into specialty services including care management, copay assistance, and billing information
• Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals
• Contact doctors to obtain necessary information
• Manage the assigned workflow queues
• Document information and prescription order setup accurately and thoroughly
• Comply with all applicable federal and state laws and uphold ethical standards
• Other duties as assigned
