Job summary

Lumicera is seeking an Intake Specialist I to enroll new Specialty Pharmacy patients and maintain complete patient records, including demographics, allergies, history, and payer information. The role focuses on coordinating with patients, doctors, and insurance providers while accurately translating prescription data into the dispensing software.

Responsibilities include handling inbound/outbound calls, triaging prior authorizations, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Some college preferred
• National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per employee’s residing state’s requirements
• Minimum two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred
• Ability to work scheduled hours, shifts may vary based on department needs (hours 8am–7pm Mon–Thu, 8am–6pm Fri)
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
• Ability to interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees

Responsibilities

• Place phone calls to new and existing Specialty Pharmacy patients
• Enroll patients into specialty services (patient care management, copay assistance, and billing information)
• Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals
• Contact doctors to obtain necessary information
• Manage assigned workflow queues
• Document information and prescription order setup accurately and thoroughly
• Adhere to applicable laws and high ethical standards; support other facility areas as needed
