Job summary

Lumicera is seeking an Intake Specialist I to enroll new Specialty Pharmacy patients and ensure complete patient records. You will communicate with patients, doctors, and insurers by phone, fax, or other means, translating prescription details for dispensing in the pharmacy system.

You may assist providers and insurers with prior authorizations. The role supports other areas as needed in the facility with pharmacy technician duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per state of residence.
• Minimum two years of pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Ability to work scheduled hours; shifts may vary by department needs; hours listed (8am–7pm Mon–Thu, 8am–6pm Fri).

Responsibilities

• Place phone calls to new and existing Specialty Pharmacy patients.
• Enroll patients into specialty services (care management, copay assistance programs, billing information).
• Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Contact doctors to obtain necessary information.
• Manage the assigned workflow queues.
• Document information and prescription order setup accurately.
• Adhere to federal and state laws and uphold high ethical standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
