Job summary

VelaFi is seeking a technically minded and customer-focused Solutions Engineer (API Integration & Project Management) to support onboarding and API integrations across Latin America. This fully remote role is ideal for someone who loves fintech, APIs, and cross-border payments and who can collaborate across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1-3+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management (TAM), Technical Project Management, Sales Engineering, or API Integrations.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP status codes, webhooks, and API authentication methods.
• Experience using API testing tools such as Postman or cURL.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer implementations simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional fluency in Spanish and Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer API onboarding from kickoff through production go-live.
• Break implementation projects into structured milestones including discovery, sandbox, UAT, production deployment, and launch.
• Track implementation progress, proactively identify risks, and remove blockers to ensure successful integrations.
• Own project timelines while coordinating activities across customers and internal teams.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer developers throughout the integration process.
• Troubleshoot API authentication issues, JSON payloads, webhooks, HTTP status codes, and integration errors.
• Utilize tools such as Postman and cURL to validate requests and diagnose technical issues.
• Escalate complex issues to Engineering while maintaining clear customer communication.
• Partner closely with Account Executives during pre-sales conversations by supporting technical discovery sessions and resolving technical objections.
• Work alongside Customer Success to ensure seamless customer handoffs following implementation and successful long-term adoption.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to prioritize customer feedback, elevate bugs, and communicate feature requests.
• Act as the technical voice of the customer across internal departments.
• Lead technical implementation meetings with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and next steps throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
• Build trusted relationships with customer technical teams while aligning business and engineering objectives.
• Identify recurring implementation challenges and recommend process improvements.
• Contribute to implementation documentation, onboarding materials, and technical best practices.
• Support the continuous optimization of VelaFi's customer onboarding experience.
