Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a seasoned SOC Manager (Security Operations Consultant) for a fully remote hourly contract.

You will evaluate and strengthen the operational backbone of security teams, focusing on detection workflows, triage quality, escalation logic, and incident response playbooks. You will review and improve detection alerts, incident response actions, and containment procedures while reporting gaps and weaknesses with clear, structured documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in SOC operations, incident response leadership, or cybersecurity operations.
• Strong analytical writing skills and ability to translate complex findings into documentation.
• Deep understanding of detection engineering and incident lifecycles.
• Ability to spot gaps and weaknesses in security operations.

Responsibilities

• Review detection alerts, triage workflows, and escalation pathways for effectiveness and consistency.
• Evaluate the completeness, accuracy, and quality of incident response actions across the operational lifecycle.
• Identify critical gaps in logging coverage, detection logic, and containment procedures.
• Summarize incident patterns, operational bottlenecks, and systemic weaknesses in clear, structured reports.
• Validate playbooks for real-world feasibility, clarity, and correctness.
• Support recurring assessments of SOC maturity, responsiveness, and overall operational rigor.
