Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Operations Center (SOC) Manager to lead a remote SOC team in the United States. You will drive threat detection, incident response, and security operations strategy across the organization, mentoring analysts and coordinating with IT and security peers.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years in SOC leadership, strong knowledge of NIST/ISO frameworks, and hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, and SOAR technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role within a SOC.
• Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing security operations teams.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), and threat intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of SOC analysts, incident responders, and threat hunters.
• Oversee the 24/7 operations of the SOC, ensuring prompt and effective incident detection and response.
• Develop, implement, and refine SOC policies, procedures, and workflows to optimize operations.
• Manage and maintain SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and other security monitoring tools.
• Drive threat hunting initiatives to proactively identify threats.
• Develop and execute incident response plans and coordinate breaches.
• Analyze threat intelligence and incorporate it into detection and response strategies.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for the SOC and report on performance.
• Collaborate with other IT and security teams to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
