Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC seeks a seasoned Underwriter to evaluate and bind new and renewal business for workers’ comp insurance. You will develop risk assessment models, ensure compliance, and collaborate with actuaries, agents, and clients to optimize pricing and terms.

The role requires deep underwriting knowledge, strong communication, and leadership potential. This is a remote position with travel as needed and a focus on profitable growth nationwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 13 years of underwriting experience or related field.
• Progress toward professional designations such as AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting policies, risk and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business per guidelines.
• Develop models to assess risk and influence pricing and terms.
• Foster partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients.
• Procure and analyze reports to support underwriting decisions.
• Document underwriting decisions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate complex renewals and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Communicate strategies to internal teams and external partners.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting underwriting.
• Maintain relationships to generate new business and retain profitable accounts.
• Assist with staff performance and talent decisions as needed.
• May perform additional duties; remote work across assigned states.
