Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC, a Summit Insurance group member, seeks an experienced workers’ compensation underwriter for a remote role serving multiple states. You will lead underwriting for new and renewal business, build advanced risk assessment models, and guide pricing decisions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with actuaries, agents, and clients, with a focus on compliant, data-driven risk management. Bachelor’s degree and 13+ years of underwriting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 13+ years of underwriting or related field experience.
• Professional designations such as AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business.
• Develop and implement advanced risk assessment models for coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Foster partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers and clients for information and guidance.
• Ensure documentation of underwriting decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate complex policy renewals and identify risk-mitigation opportunities.
• Communicate underwriting strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
