Job summary

CVS Health, including Meritain Health underwriting, offers a fully remote Underwriting role focused on pricing, stop loss and client consulting. The department supports bid pricing, quotes and financial modeling for a diversified book of business, including Mid-Market and captive channels.

You will work with Sales and Client Management to prepare quotations, financial projections, and stop loss strategies, building strong relationships with internal partners and customers.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of medical insurance experience (brokers, carriers, TPAs, underwriting, policy marketing).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Adept at collaboration and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on pricing and stop loss strategies to Sales and Client Management.
• Prepare quotations and other financial deliverables for prospective and existing business.
• Create financial projections using Excel and Salesforce.
• Market and place stop loss policies; negotiate terms.
• Collaborate with leaders from key functional areas on custom requests.
• Manage and interpret operational data for fee development and financial analysis.
• Present to internal/external customers and partners.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Meritain products and services.
• Develop and participate in presentations for customers and partners.
• Collaborate with Sales to determine product mix to reduce total cost of care.
• Assist sales in explaining rates/fees and underwriting details.
• Maintain positive relationships with Sales, client management, panel and partners.
