Job summary

CVS Health/ Meritain Health is hiring an Underwriter to support underwriting and pricing for a national book of business, including mid-market and captive channels. This fully remote role collaborates with Sales and Client Management to prepare quotations and financial projections using Excel and Salesforce.

You will engage in stop loss strategies, data-driven pricing, and presenting proposals to clients and partners while aligning with CVS Health’s principles and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1-2 Years of applicable medical insurance experience: brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, underwriting, rating methodologies, or policy marketing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Adept at collaboration and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on pricing and stop loss strategies to Sales and Client Management teams.
• Prepare and issue quotations and financial deliverables for prospective and existing business.
• Prepare financial projections using Excel and Salesforce.
• Market and place stop loss policies; negotiate terms based on claims data and cost-reduction efforts.
• Collaborate with leaders to understand impacts for custom requests.
• Manage and interpret operational data for fee development and financial analysis.
• Present to internal/external customers and partners.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Meritain products and services.
• Create presentations for customers, partners and internal teams.
• Assist in determining product mix to reduce total cost of care for plan sponsors.
